May has been overflowing with joy! My husband celebrated a birthday, my sister got married, and we honored Mother’s Day. This month’s favorites are rooted in celebration, appreciation, and so much love.

Favorite Food of the Month: Organic Corn Tortillas from Masienda

One of my hero foods this month has been the Organic Corn Tortillas from Masienda. These delicious tortillas are made with simple ingredients. They contain only organic corn and alkaline water. The corn is soaked and cooked in the alkaline water, a traditional process known as nixtamalization. Nixtamalization enhances the corn's nutritional value and flavor. Once the corn kernels have been properly soaked, they are ground into fresh masa, pressed, and then cooked. These tortillas are gluten-free, preservative-free, additive-free, and deeply nourishing. I love pairing these tortillas with my homemade taco meat made with the Force of Nature ancestral blend (another nutrient powerhouse) plus homemade crema, pepper jack cheese, and fresh cilantro.

Favorite Ritual: Evening Walks with Koda

After dinner, my husband and I love taking an evening walk around the block with our Siberian Husky, Koda. It’s such a simple evening ritual, but it supports all of us. Koda gets his movement in, and we get the digestive and nervous‑system benefits of a gentle post‑meal stroll. Even a short 10‑minute walk can stimulate gut motility, reduce gas and bloating, prevent constipation, support detoxification, and minimize acid reflux or heartburn. These light walks also set the stage for deeper, more restful sleep by helping regulate the body's circadian rhythm. Exposure to natural light helps synchronize the body’s internal clock, making it easier to fall asleep at night. And because walking lowers cortisol and boosts endorphins, it naturally eases stress and quiets the mind. Beyond the health benefits, it’s one of my favorite ways to reconnect with my husband and unwind together.

Favorite Product: Vanilla + Citrus Deodorant from Primally Pure

Over the last few years, I’ve slowly transitioned my beauty and hygiene routine to cleaner, more natural options. The one product I held onto the longest was deodorant. I had tried so many non‑toxic formulas in the past, and none of them truly worked for me. But over the last two years, I have been committed to using only clean options. Some brands smelled great but didn’t keep me fresh all day, while others worked beautifully at first but eventually irritated my sensitive skin. That’s why the Vanilla Citrus Deodorant from Primally Pure feels like such a game-changer. It smells like an orange creamsicle, keeps me fresh all day, and is the only clean deodorant I’ve found that doesn’t cause any irritation on my sensitive underarms. The ingredients are beautifully transparent, regenerative, and intentionally simple. This aluminum‑free deodorant blends grass‑fed tallow, naturally mined baking soda, and antibacterial essential oils to neutralize odor and support gentle detoxification. It is a must-have item in my bathroom cabinet.

Favorite Personal Accomplishment: Removing the Juniper Bush

One unexpected accomplishment this month was finally removing the juniper bush from our backyard. It had been growing for more than twenty years. It became overgrown, unruly, and no longer added anything meaningful to the space. Clearing it out instantly made the yard feel lighter, cleaner, and so much more open. There’s something deeply satisfying about tending to your home environment in a way that creates more beauty and ease, and this small act of outdoor care felt like a true seasonal reset. Now that the space is open, we’re planning on planting an herb garden that will help keep pests at bay while giving us fresh, fragrant herbs to cook with all summer long.

Favorite Recipe: Egg Bites with Bacon & Gruyère

This May, I’ve been loving the Egg Bites with Bacon & Gruyère from Once Upon a Chef (recipe linked below). They’re the perfect meal‑prep staple, high‑protein, incredibly flavorful, and they reheat beautifully. They’re so easy to make and quickly became a recipe I found myself returning to again and again this month.

Favorite Show: The Boroughs

One show I devoured this month was The Boroughs on Netflix. I finished it in just a few days. The story unfolds in a seemingly idyllic New Mexico retirement community, where a grieving newcomer joins a group of quirky, determined seniors to confront an otherworldly threat intent on stealing the one thing they have the least of: time. Created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews and produced alongside the Duffer Brothers, the series blends mystery, heart, humor, and just the right amount of eerie tension. It has a fun, nostalgic feel that’s reminiscent of Stranger Things (another favorite of mine), and I would absolutely recommend giving it a watch.
