Summer is officially in full swing, and June has been such a vibrant month: warm weather, amusement park adventures, beach days, birthday celebrations, and Father’s Day all rolled into one.
Favorite Food of the Month: Watermelon
One of my hero foods this month has been Watermelon! Watermelon is in season May through September, with peak ripeness and sweetness during the summer months. It is the perfect hydrating fruit; it is composed of over 90% water, is packed with electrolytes like potassium and magnesium, and contains the powerful antioxidant lycopene. It’s the perfect treat at the beach, after a long day of yard work, or tossed into a refreshing salad with mint, feta, and lime (so good).
Favorite Ritual: Making homemade dog treats for Koda
This month, I’ve been making a point to bake homemade dog treats for Koda every week, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite little rituals. It’s so much fun whipping up nourishing, whole‑food treats for him, and he absolutely loves them. I’ve been using The Forever Dog Life: 120+ Recipes, Longevity Tips, and New Science for Better Bowls and Healthier Homes as my guide, and the recipes have been a hit. His top picks so far are the Lycopene Lickers, Gelatin Bones, and Cognition Cubes.
Favorite Product: Sun Cream SPF 30 Lavender Mint from Primally Pure
When I’m heading to the beach or lake, I always make sure I’m packing the cleanest, most non‑toxic sunscreen. My go‑to is Primally Pure’s Sun Cream in Lavender Mint. It’s a tallow‑based SPF 30 that blends purity with performance. Made with grass‑fed tallow, non‑nano zinc oxide, beeswax, and mango butter, this lightweight mineral formula delivers broad‑spectrum protection while deeply moisturizing and supporting the skin barrier. It’s reef‑safe, non‑toxic, fast‑absorbing, and leaves the skin nourished with a naturally sheer glow — plus it smells incredible.
Favorite Personal Accomplishment: Deep Cleaning the Fridge
June has been a month of cleaning and renewal. I tackled so many house projects, but one of the most satisfying accomplishments was finally deep‑cleaning the fridge. It felt amazing to pull everything out, give every shelf and drawer a fresh scrub, and clear away anything expired or no longer serving our needs. There’s something so grounding about creating a clean, organized space; it instantly makes the whole home feel lighter, more intentional, and ready for a new season.
Favorite Recipe: Butter‑Stuffed Dates with Dark Chocolate & Tahini Drizzle
This June, I’ve been loving Butter-Stuffed Dates with Dark Chocolate & Tahini Drizzle. It is a decadent, whole‑food treat that’s sweet, salty, creamy, and rich; the best part is it only takes minutes to make. It’s my go‑to whenever I’m craving something sweet, and the texture is so reminiscent of cookie dough. It hits that dessert spot while still feeling nourishing and intentional.
Favorite Show: Every Year After
I love a good summer romance. One of my favorite shows has always been The Summer I Turned Pretty, and the new Amazon series Every Year After has that same nostalgic, heart‑tugging energy — it’s the perfect summer watch. The story follows childhood best friends Percy Fraser and Sam Florek over six years and one unforgettable week in the dreamy lake town of Barry’s Bay, exploring whether first love can truly become a soulmate connection. It’s based on Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel Every Summer After, and it delivers all the cozy, sun‑soaked feelings you want this time of year.
